Mushroom Toast

 

This mushroom toast is a delectable appetizer or snack. It's really good: crispy sourdough toast with creamy ricotta spread and delectable honey soy garlic mushrooms.

How to make mushroom toast step by step


STEP 1:Slice the mushrooms into 1/4-inch (5mm) pieces, and mince the parsley, garlic, and other ingredients with a knife, not a garlic press.



STEP 2:In a big frying pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over low heat. Add the bread slices once it begins to bubble. Cook until golden brown on all sides, then remove from the pan.

Instead of cooking the bread in butter in the pan, you can toast it in the oven, toaster, or toaster oven to save calories.



STEP 3:In the pan, heat the oil to a medium-high temperature. Add the mushrooms in an even layer and heat for 1–2 minutes, letting them color, before cooking them while stirring for a further 1–2 minutes, or until they are soft and browned (but not too soft). Cook for 30 seconds after adding the butter, garlic, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Cook for a minute after adding honey and soy sauce. After removing the skillet from the heat, season the mushrooms with salt and pepper and toss in the parsley.



STEP 4:Combine ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and zest in a small bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.



STEP 5:Spread the ricotta mixture over the toast, add the mushrooms, and top with additional parmesan cheese that has been grated.
